Can I Still Buy Windows 7
If the new interface of Windows 8 bothers you that much, it may be easier to paper it over with third-party software: Programs like the $5 Start8, noted here a few weeks ago, can recreate the Start menu and suppress the Start screen. You'll still have the security upgrades Microsoft added to this release; Win 8's performance improvements will also remain, although on a new computer Windows 7 would also seem faster than your old machine.
can i still buy windows 7
A month into spending my own $39.99 to put Windows 8 on a year-old ThinkPad, I'm still figuring some things out but overall don't mind the change. But I also spend the bulk of my time on that machine in a few core programs; your PC usage may not look much like mine.
Windows 8 was released back in 2012 and since October 2014, Microsoft no longer distributes licenses for Windows 7 Home editions. If you prefer Windows 7 and you're in the market for a new laptop, you'll be pleased to know that you can still choose from a lot of Windows 7 Professional laptops.
Apart from the Alienware gaming laptops, they all have integrated graphics cards, which isn't ideal if gaming is your jam. But there's a good variety of Intel processors on offer, meaning you can still get a relatively high-end Windows 7 laptop for a decent price.
HP is still very much supporting Windows 7 laptops. In fact, when you visit HP's operating system overview, the section for Windows 7 is front and center. They have a whole range of different laptops available, including EliteBooks, ENVY, and Pavilion series.
If you're after a laptop that's more affordable, but still has a bit of oomph, head for the Pavilions. The great thing about HP is that you can customize most of the laptops to upgrade the components. You can add in a dedicated graphics card, for example, or double the size of the hard drive. It's worth playing around with the customization options so you can create the perfect laptop for you.
In the same way, if you plan to upgrade from an older version of Windows, you still can use a Windows 7 and even a Windows 8.1 product key to activate Windows 10. Of course, as long as you first erase the old installation to free up the license.
? Is Windows 7 still good? There is no right answer here. Technically, it is outdated and there are better options to pick from. However, those who decided to remain loyal to this now-historical version of Windows still appreciate its stability and ease of use.
? Can you still use Windows 7 safely? This is also debatable, you can go the extra mile and add a robust antivirus that works with Windows 7 as well as a lightweight VPN for privacy. However, the best way to keep out of trouble is to stay offline as much as you can.
So, if you still want to keep running your PC on Win7 after the impending apocalypse, the guides herein would assist you. In this article, we have described, succinctly, how to stay on Windows 7 forever.
All installed drivers and applications will continue to work as before and some of them will still receive updates for a few years, but not forever. This will put your computer at risk of only doing that unless your computer is never connected to the network and using a browser.
Can I still use Windows 7 after 2020? The answer is positive, but you are at risk if you use a network or web browser. And the extended security update is only available for another 3 years. Afterward, your behavior will be much more restricted. Considering the data security, you can only use programs and data currently on your computer. If you want to add new files to it, you need to scan it first.
So the final choice is still to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 or 11, and it is easy to do so because they have the same system requirements. The Windows 11 system requirements are higher. With them, you can use your computer safely and do what you want, install new programs, share your files to others, add new files, etc.
Right now, Microsoft still allows you to download Windows 7 ISO images directly from their servers through the software recovery page. Here is how you can download the Disc Images via the official channel legally and also create installation media such as a DVD or bootable USB drive to install Windows 7:
We have given multiple links and have mentioned multiple ways above to download Windows 7 ISO free of cost. But mind you, although the file download is free, you still need to have a valid Windows 7 key in order to proceed with the installation.
Yes, absolutely. You can still download Windows 7 ISO in 2022, which too officially straight from Microsoft's own servers. We have also provided alternate links to direct download Windows 7. You just need to ensure you have a valid Windows 7 license and download appropriate versions.
Keep in mind that this workaround won't necessarily work all the time. If it doesn't, you'll need to pay the Windows 10 Home license fee or, if your system is older than 4 years, you might want to buy a new one (all new PCs run on some version of Windows 10). You will certainly need to upgrade from Windows 7 or Windows 8 if you are still running those legacy operating systems, as Microsoft no longer supports them.
The rapidly evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) has imposed an unsettling, fluid situation upon our community and its businesses. While the team here at PCFIXIT Business IT Solutions still aims to maintain a "business as usual" approach, we are making a number of significant changes to our operations to account for a situation that is far from normal
I have a HP Officejet Pro L7480 and my problem is that, after I have stripped my computer of existing drivers and downloaded the new (windows 7 compatible) drivers from the HP Website, I then reconnect my printer which automatically uploads is own pre-intalled drivers (not compatible with Windows 7) to my pc which muddles the whole thing up again.
I have just bought a Ricoh Aficio gx e 3300n printer, and a hp windows 7 pc. Only to find that they are not compatable. I have asked for proper installation discs,or for a refund on the printer. What do you think I should do next?
So, if you still have the product key, then downloading Windows 7 for free is not really an issue. You can download your Windows 7 ISO image from the Microsoft Software Recovery site by providing your valid product key.
The trial version will come with all the features, but when it will expire your Windows will not work properly (although it will still turn on). However, there is a way to extend the trial period by 30 more days using slmgr -rearm command, which has been added by Microsoft to extend the trial period. You can use the slmgr -rearm command up to 3 times, which means you effectively get total 120 days out of your Windows 7 trial.
Microsoft hopes to have Windows 10 running on 1 billion systems within three years. An admirable goal, but one that does not take into account the requirements of the user. Windows 10 shares a lot in common with Windows 8.1; it is a smooth experience upgrading from that release. For Windows 7 users, the story might be a little different. Some older applications just work better with the older versions. If you purchase a new PC today, it likely will have Windows 10 preinstalled. Users still have an option, though, which is the ability to downgrade the installation to an older version of Windows, such as Windows 7 or even Windows 8.1.
Also, there remains a demand for systems with older versions of Windows, which is what you might prefer. Most OEM vendors such as Dell, HP, and Lenovo offer new model systems with a choice of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. If your computer is still within its warranty period, then I suggest you take advantage of it and purchase an appropriate system preinstalled with Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.
Phew, now that was a lot to articulate. Microsoft wants every PC to upgrade to Windows 10; the reality is that can only happen in a perfect world. We all have our various reasons why we still prefer Windows 7 or Windows 8.1; it is our right. Windows 10 is indeed the future, but I am sure many of us would prefer to embrace the future on our terms.
I realy like your post with boost of information, But I have a windows 8.1 professional product key, Purchased from: http//cheaproduct.comI just installed windows 8.1 professional at my laptop, But not know how to activate using the activation key code. Can I upgrade it to Windows 10 to get more features. I have a HP Windows 10 machine. I have a install copy of window 7. When I try to install windows 7 I cannot get it to load the usb drivers so I cannot get my mouse and keyboard to function. But my windows 10 disk will. How do I over come this problem?
I am an NGO based in the US but all work is done in Tanzania, Africa. We bought 4 new dell computers with Windows 10 unknowingly. I was not apart of the procurement process. The computers are now here with me and we want to take them to windows 7. Windows 10 in our opinion is garbage. Microsoft needs to stop trying to be Apple and leave Apps alone. If we want apps we will go with Apple products.
My situation is a bit similar. My laptop came with Windows 8.1, then I did the upgrade to 8.1 and then the free upgrade to Windows 10 then it automatically upgraded me to Win10.1(Anniv Edition) and I still have the product key for 8.0 on this latop.. NOW, I do not get an option to reinstall or reset my computer to to 8.0. but am I able to somehow do that? I would really like to go back to 8.0 since I can not go to 7.. Win10/10.1 is a flippin nightmare.
Good day ,My issue is frustrating. My friend has given me her Dell laptop. Pre loaded with windows 10 Home. But appears to have been originally a windows 7 setup.I would like to install win 8.1 pro.I have the 8.1 and 8.1 pro iso. I have 8.1 and 8.1 pro activation keys. I have tried to do usb installation. With windows 10 running as this was advised. It does not work. Because reasons??
Windows 7 is a major release of the Windows NT operating system released in 2009 and its extended support ended on January 14, 2020. It was a major success for Microsoft. Until January 2018, Windows 7 was still the most popular version of Windows worldwide. 041b061a72
