Can coin identification work on heavily cleaned coins?
Some of my coins were cleaned years ago and look a bit unnatural. Will any tool still be able to identify them?

Some of my coins were cleaned years ago and look a bit unnatural. Will any tool still be able to identify them?
Cleaned coins can be recognized if the main design details survive. The tool focuses on shape, lettering, and remaining motifs rather than surface quality. It may note that cleaning affects value, but it usually still gives the correct type and date. For cleaned pieces, a tolerant coin identifier remains useful. coin identifier – it successfully identified several of my previously cleaned coins and helped me understand their reduced collector value.
